Think of a dumbwaiter as a mini elevator designed to carry objects between floors. Dumbwaiters have been in use for more than a century, particularly in the kitchens of older hotels and homes, and they are still a great addition to a Southern California home or business.
Nationwide Lifts of Southern California installs Jeeves dumbwaiters: the Jeeves Econolift for homes and the Jeeves Pro for commercial use. We are always happy to answer questions, provide a quote and send a free catalog.
The Jeeves Econolift is a residential dumbwaiter that needs minimal installation and maintenance. It is equipped with several safety devices, including a slack cable device, a final limit trolley brake and interlocked doors.
The Jeeves Pro is a motorized dumbwaiter designed for commercial use. It comes with a powder coated cab as standard, with stainless steel available, and can travel up to 80 feet with up to 6 stops.
In a home with the garage on one level and the kitchen on another, or a roof deck three floors above the refrigerator, a dumbwaiter earns its keep every day. We install Jeeves dumbwaiters in houses, restaurants and other businesses in Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego.
Residential units need a shaft about the size of a small closet. Commercial units are built for heavier, more frequent loads. Call (714) 228-9982 or request a quote for a site visit.
The most requested route in Southern California runs from a garage at street level to a kitchen on the floor above. We describe it in dumbwaiters for homes with the garage below the kitchen, and dumbwaiters in new homes and renovations explains why more builders are including them.
A dumbwaiter carries goods only. In a multi-level home it pairs well with a home elevator or glass elevator for people, and a stair lift is the simpler choice where one staircase is the obstacle.
Yes, provided the shaft can run in a straight line to that level. It is a popular feature in multi-story coastal homes.
